What types of prenatal care does Bebé PT offer?

Bebé PT offers massage therapy, physical therapy, Pilates and yoga as well as group classes to help you stretch and strengthen your muscles so you can prevent or relieve the aches and pains of pregnancy, including back ache, head ache, leg cramps and other pregnancy-related aches and pains. Plus, Bebé PT can help you prepare for delivery with gentle stretching and strengthening exercises focused on the muscles you use during delivery, including your abdominal muscles, low back muscles and your pelvic floor muscles.

How can prenatal care help me during pregnancy and delivery?

Prenatal stretching and strengthening exercises and physical therapy can help you:

  • improve your posture to help better balance your increasing weight to ward off lower back “sway” that can result in pain not only in your back, but in your shoulders, neck, head and legs as well

  • learn to lift properly as your center of gravity shifts to help avoid problems related to your spine and discs

  • address pre-existing issues that can become worse during pregnancy, including chronic issues like herniated discs and pain from sciatica or carpal tunnel syndrome

  • stimulate lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling (edema)

  • promote good circulation throughout your body, including your legs and your core area

  • reduce pain and inflammation in the joints to avoid cartilage injury that can lead to osteoarthritis in the future

  • help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to aid in delivery and help prevent incontinence after delivery

  • prevent post-pregnancy belly “pooch” by reducing the risk of diastasis recti, or separation of abdominal musculature

What does prenatal care include?

Your prenatal care will be based on your health, any symptoms you're experiencing, your pre-existing health issues and your goals, and can include Pilates and other exercises and stretching, yoga, physical therapy, massage and lifestyle guidance.

Bebé PT is a participating provider for over 4000 different health plans. Treatments are generally covered with a prescription from your OB/Gyn or any physician.
